Our test endpoint answers every request with 208 Already Reported.

curl -i https://mockfox.dev/api/status/208

Use it in tests, health-check monitors or to see how your client handles a 208. Add ?delay=2000 to slow it down.

What does HTTP 208 mean?

Used within a WebDAV multi-status response when a collection is reachable through several bindings, so the same member isn't enumerated twice and infinite loops are avoided. It appears only inside 207 bodies, never as a top-level response status in practice.

Handling 208

  1. Visitors: Nothing to fix — this is a success status.
  2. Developers: Make sure clients handle this status as success (response.ok is true for 200–299) and know whether to expect a body.

Example 208 response

HTTP/1.1 208 Already Reported
Content-Type: application/json

{"status":208,"error":"Already Reported"}

2xx Success: The request was received, understood and accepted. See the full list of HTTP status codes.
