🔒 Static QR code made in your browser — no tracking redirect, never expires, nothing is uploaded (logos included).
How to create a Wi-Fi QR code
- Enter the network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capitals and spaces.
- Choose the security type — WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost every modern router — and type the password.
- Tick Hidden network if your router doesn't broadcast its name.
- Download the PNG and print it for your fridge, office, Airbnb or café table.
How phones read a Wi-Fi QR code
The code holds a short text string that iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android (10+) camera apps recognise:
WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyHomeWiFi;P:correct-horse-battery;;
T is the security type (WPA, WEP or nopass), S the network name, P the password and H:true marks a hidden network. Special characters \ ; , : " in the name or password are escaped with a backslash automatically. Open “Show the raw payload” under the tool to see yours.
Troubleshooting
- “Unable to join” — the SSID or password has a typo; both are case-sensitive.
- WPA3-only networks use the same
T:WPAtype; very old phones may not support WPA3 itself. - Enterprise networks (802.1X with a username) aren't supported by camera apps.
- Changed your password? Make a new code — the old one contains the old password.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
The code is generated locally — the password never leaves your browser. But anyone who can scan the printed code can join, so only display it where you'd be happy to tell people the password. A separate guest network is ideal.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open the camera app, point it at the code and tap the Wi-Fi prompt. It works on iOS 11+ and Android 10+ (older Android phones may need Google Lens).
Where do I find my network name and password?
Usually on a sticker on the router. On a connected Windows PC: Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → your network → View Wi-Fi security key. On a Mac: Keychain Access or System Settings → Wi-Fi → ⋯ → Copy Password.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Everything is generated by JavaScript in your browser, so nothing you type or generate is uploaded, logged or stored. It keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
