Coin Flip
Updated Free mock REST & WebSocket APIs
Tap the coin to flip it — a fair 50/50 heads-or-tails decision in a second. Need more? Flip 10, 100 or 1,000 at once and watch the tally and longest streak.
Tap the coin or press Flip
🔒 Each flip is a fair 50/50 draw from crypto.getRandomValues — not Math.random, and not physics.
How to flip a coin online
- Tap the coin or press “Flip a coin”.
- Read heads or tails as it lands; the tally keeps a running count.
- Use “Flip 100” or “Flip 1,000” to see how results even out over many flips.
What to expect from many flips
Each flip is independent: after five heads in a row, the next flip is still exactly 50/50 (believing otherwise is the gambler's fallacy). Over many flips the share of heads drifts toward 50%, but streaks are longer than intuition says — in 100 flips the longest run of the same side is usually 5 to 7.
| Event | Probability |
|---|---|
| Heads on one flip | 1/2 = 50% |
| 3 heads in a row | 1/8 = 12.5% |
| 5 heads in a row | 1/32 ≈ 3.1% |
| 10 heads in a row | 1/1,024 ≈ 0.098% |
| Exactly 50 heads in 100 flips | ≈ 7.96% |
Is a real coin toss fair?
Not quite. A 2023 study of over 350,000 tosses found real coins land on the side they started on about 50.8% of the time. A virtual coin drawn from a cryptographic random generator has no such wobble.

Frequently asked questions
Is this coin flip really 50/50?
Yes. Each flip is one random bit from crypto.getRandomValues, so heads and tails each have exactly a 50% chance, independent of previous flips.
Can I flip more than one coin?
Yes — flip 10, 100 or 1,000 at a time. You'll see the heads/tails split, percentages and the longest streak.
What's the best way to decide something with a coin?
Agree what heads and tails mean before you flip. If you feel disappointed by the result, that tells you what you really wanted.
