Random Name Picker
Updated Free mock REST & WebSocket APIs
Paste names (or anything else) one per line to draw a random winner, several winners without repeats, a shuffled order, or balanced random teams. Your list never leaves your browser.
🔒 Your list stays in your browser. Draws use crypto.getRandomValues, so every entry has exactly the same chance.
How to pick a random name
- Paste or type your entries — one per line, or comma-separated on a single line.
- Choose Pick winners (and how many), Make teams, or Shuffle order.
- Press the button. Turn on “Remove winners from the list” to run successive draws for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
- Copy the result to share it.
Running a fair giveaway
- Clean the list first. Remove duplicates (on by default) unless extra entries are part of the rules — then keep them, and each copy counts as one ticket.
- Draw all winners at once for equal prizes; draw one at a time with “remove winners” for ranked prizes.
- Record it. Screen-record the draw or share your screen live — it's the simplest proof of fairness.
- Check the rules. Giveaways on Instagram, TikTok and others must follow the platform's promotion rules and local law.
How the draw works
Winners are chosen with a partial Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by crypto.getRandomValues: every entry has the same chance, and no entry can win twice in one draw. Teams are made by shuffling the list and dealing names round-robin, so team sizes differ by at most one.

Frequently asked questions
Can the same name be picked twice?
Not within one draw — winners are drawn without replacement. If a name appears twice in your list and duplicates aren't removed, it has two chances.
How many names can I enter?
Thousands. The draw is instant even for very long lists.
Is the spinning animation part of the draw?
No. Winners are chosen the moment you press the button; the animation is only for suspense.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Everything is generated by JavaScript in your browser, so nothing you type or generate is uploaded, logged or stored. It keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
